The problem
One bad shot can shut a dog down.
Gun shyness often starts with one moment: someone shot too close, too soon, or used live fire as a “test.” The dog still wants birds. The gun is what stopped them.
More shooting around that dog usually makes it worse. The work starts at home, under the dog’s threshold — then you go back outside.
How it works
Home first. Field second.
- 1Play Lesson 1 at home. Music only. Crate, kennel, or a quiet room. The dog should already be relaxed.
- 2Move forward only when the dog is itself. Each lesson adds a little more gunfire. If demeanor changes, go back a lesson.
- 3Then take it to the field. When the lessons are easy at volume, start live fire a long way off — we use at least 200 yards — while the dog is doing something it loves.

Who made this
Tyce Erickson, Utah Bird Dog Training
Tyce is a working bird dog trainer in Payson, Utah. He built Gunshy Fix after the same call kept coming in: the dog would hunt, then the gun came out and it was over.
Some dogs in his program progress until the gun gets around 30 or 40 yards, then shut down. This is the at-home sound work for people who do not have extra help, extra birds, or a place to start live fire correctly.
He does not guarantee every gun-shy dog can be completely fixed. He is honest that it can be a long process. Patience and decent retrieve or bird drive give you a much better chance.

FAQ
Questions people ask before they buy
What is Gunshy Fix?
An 8-lesson audio program that pairs calming music with gradually introduced gunfire recordings. You start in the house. When the dog is itself around the sound, you take it back to the field.
Will this work if my dog is already gun shy?
That is who it was built for. Do not start by shooting around the dog again. Run the lessons at home, watch demeanor, and only add live fire a long way off when the recordings are easy.
How do I play the lessons?
After purchase we email a download link. Put the MP3s on your phone and play them through any speaker. Daily is best. Four or five days a week at a minimum. Do not skip Lesson 1.
Do you guarantee the dog will be fixed?
No. Tyce will not promise a miracle. If you have questions about your dog before you buy, call or text him and he will help you decide if this is the right starting point.
